Schwartz were recently re-appointed as co-chairs of the Howard County Bar Association Family Law Committee. Jolie Gelman Weinberg attended the Maryland State Bar Conference in Ocean City, participating in the Family Law Section Council presentation before the bar. Jolie Gelman Weinberg is President of the Howard County Collaborative Practice. Jolie Gelman Weinberg presented “Winning Ways at Trial” at the MICPEL Seminar held on September 15, 2006. Bobbie G. Steyer was inducted into the Maryland Bar Foundation in June 2006. Marni B. Schwartz co-chaired a Howard County Domestic Violence Center event, “Deanna & Dessert,” featuring the music of Deanna Bogart and desserts from local Columbia businesses. The event raised $20,000.00 for Howard County victims of domestic violence. Jolie Gelman Weinberg was inducted into the Howard County Bar Foundation. Jolie Gelman Weinberg was appointed to the Maryland Collaborative Professional Council which will serve as an umbrella organization to oversee and assist the local county collaborative practices. Marni B. Schwartz was appointed to the Domestic Case Management Committee of the Circuit Court for Howard County. Under the leadership of The Honorable Diane O. Leasure, the committee is charged with developing a new family law case management system. Marni B. Schwartz was recently selected by Kenneth Ulman, Howard County Executive Elect, to serve on the Howard County Public Safety Transition Committee.
